Job Description

A nationally recognized law firm is seeking an Attorney or Counsel to join its Toxic Tort & Complex Litigation practice. This is an opportunity to work on sophisticated, high-exposure litigation alongside a collaborative team representing clients in complex toxic tort and product liability matters.

Responsibilities

  • Manage toxic tort and complex litigation matters through all phases of litigation.
  • Conduct factual investigations and develop case strategy.
  • Handle written discovery, including drafting and responding to discovery requests.
  • Prepare pleadings, motions, briefs, and other litigation-related documents.
  • Take and defend depositions of fact witnesses, corporate representatives, and experts.
  • Draft and argue substantive motions in California state and federal courts.
  • Assist with mediations, arbitrations, trials, and appeals.
  • Collaborate with clients, experts, and legal teams to develop effective litigation strategies.

Qualifications

Required

  • Active California Bar license in good standing.
  • 3+ years of litigation experience; toxic tort experience preferred.
  • Experience practicing in California state and federal courts.
  • Strong skills in discovery, depositions, motion practice, and case management.
  • Excellent legal research, writing, and advocacy abilities.
  • Ability to manage a caseload independently while working collaboratively with a team.

Preferred

  • Experience handling asbestos, benzene, silica, talc, environmental exposure, chemical exposure, or similar toxic tort matters.
  • Trial preparation or courtroom experience in complex civil litigation.
  • Familiarity with expert-intensive litigation.
